I don’t give a shit about Metacritic but it’s cool this has a 95 on there. That’s rare, right? I feel like albums usually range in the 70s and 80s. All the acclaim is so awesome. Feels like this truly is her moment.
I think there’s been some rating inflation over the years to high scores more common, but a 90+ score on 20+ reviews is like all-time great territory
yeah i feel like review scores have always been inflated and pitchfork was one of the only sites out there willing to go against the grain but even they hand out BNM like candy these days. however of all albums this one deserves every ounce of acclaim its getting and then some and even with inflated scores abound a 95 out of 20+ reviews is indeed all-time great territory. this album belongs on that apple top 100 list more than any other goofy modern pick we saw on there lol
There’s not a bad song on here at all and songs like romantic and apple which didn’t stand out to me my first handful of listens have become a couple of my favorites. Even Pop 2 and HIFN have a song or two I could do without.
yeah the critical reception for this one, for some reason, feels like acclaim for her entire body of work which is galvanizing everyone to rally behind just how good this album is. it's also charli's most vulnerable and personal record yet imo, which is lending to it connecting moreso than her other records but it also may be that pop music culture has finally caught up
Literally everything is lining up right for her and this release, even the cover art is iconic at this point
Got my 360_brat exclusive today, not sure what’s different about it , it’s the picture disc with a weird like old school computer paper printout of the credits ?
different gatefold art compared to the retail version, no hole cutout on the back of the jacket, and pull tabs on both sides to access the booklet and record
Received my vinyl today. Such a cool and beautiful presentation. I know some folks were upset about the pull tabs but I kind of love them. Feels fitting somehow that you have to tear the packaging apart to get to the vinyl and lyrics book
