This is growing on me a lot already, there's so much great shit here, I just wish it wasn't so repetitive. That holds it back from reaching the level of her best stuff for me, especially when the most repetitive parts are on some of the best songs. I'm trying to get into the vibe with it though, it's clearly there for a reason so I'm hoping I can grow to appreciate it.
Her highest P4K score and all across the board it’s been getting great reviews and fan response. I’m happy for her, she deserves it for yet another killer album.
If you love this record you should also check out Rebecca Black’s record Let Her Burn from last year it’s similarly glitchy driving “experimental” pop music with a personal edge. Yes “Friday” Rebecca Black.
I will have Charli saying “Okay, okay okay okay” at the start of 365 in the back of my brain for the rest of my life
This is definitely true and why I liked this as much as I did upon first listen. Love her working in this space, sonically & emotionally.
So, between Sympathy, her interview where she said opening for Taylor felt like playing to 5 year olds, and her comments about toxic positivity/kindness on Los Culturistas…are we to assume they’re not friendly?
they seem to be in their own separate spaces, and probably aren't really bothered by it all unless their paths directly cross (i.e. Sympathy).
yeah she clarified that she didn't mean to be rude it was just bizarre going from playing to rooms full of people in k holes to a bunch of people there to see the world's biggest pop star
