She is specifically addressing the list of songs from The Giver video. It sounds like she is saying they are not using any of them for a second album, even the released ones.

Like someone mentioned. I’m guessing a stopgap EP with the 3 singles plus 2 more while they work on the second record.

i get what you're saying, but i don't think that quote discounts foregoing any or all of the songs for the next album, just that she doesn't have enough yet where she feels comfortable compiling them. she's obviously writing as she goes until the album starts to fully take shape, and if some of the released/mentioned ones don't make the record, that's understandable. but that quote doesn't read to me like she's starting from scratch and scrapping all of those other songs.

the last album had most of the previously released singles, and i'm sure the same thing might apply here. beyond the time required to write and record, one of the big reasons the first record released several years after Pink Pony Club was that she was dropped by her label in the middle of COVID and had to do everything independently for a while. now she's got lots more time and resources to make the second album happen. could that push things out to where she doesn't release it for a while? sure, but unless she does an EP like others have mentioned, i don't think she's not gonna compile these previously released singles in some format, especially since doing so would boost sales/chart metrics

I think she'd have to buzz it all off to fill 7k vinyl records lmao

$45 for a single not including shipping is absolute insanity.

I looked at their past releases, and while I wouldn't purchase any liquid vinyl for many reasons, I think the prices are reasonable for full-length releases. With that said, it's completely ridiculous to charge that much for a single, no matter how special they pressed it.

That's categorically false though. The reason we get mid 20+ song albums is because it games the charts. Someone listening to your 27 track album 2 times is better than someone listening to your 10 song album 5 times. Artists do it because it makes them more money, not because they're burned out so just putting trash on the album.
