Also wanted to point out that I love that Chappell continues to bring her touring band on stage with her to these performances. There really aren’t any big pop artists that do that I can think of. I don’t think she has ever done a televised performance without them.

 

I feel like Olivia does too, different for Billie obviously because Finneas is so essential to her music

I know that award shows are commonly seen by many of us as superfluous and there are MANY issues with them, but... my 65-ish year old co-worker spent about 15 minutes this morning gushing to me about Chappell Roan this morning after seeing her performance on the Grammys and how he is already thoroughly obsessed with her music, so I guess there are positives outside our usual channels haha

Also the “machine that got her there” line lol. She got dropped by her label for releasing the song she performed at the Grammys and the producer that made the song with her is the one she signed with after that.

She has been very intentional and in control of how her career has been moving since she got dropped.
