okay I'm gonna put it into a context you guys might relate to:

it's like watching someone post vacation pictures after they didn't show up for work and you spent hundreds of dollars to be also at work that day because you guys were working on a project together. also she told you while you were already on your train to work.

why would you spend hundreds of dollars to go to work?

 

y'all literally had the same discourse a week ago. why is this still going on?

 

starting to think people just don't care because it happened in Europe

 

I live 3 hours from my work so it includes an overnight stay if I have to go in lol

 

There is probably, just slightly a difference of attending and performing at an awards show than wanting people to stop stalking you and your family

 

ALSO - I think you are justified to be upset if you planned to travel or had tickets to her show and she canceled to attend a music awards show. I get it. I wonder if I would have kept my shows if I was in her position? Maybe?? Who knows.

But like, I don’t know I do think at some point you gotta get the hell over it.

The VMAs are dumb but it’s going to help her career and she can reschedule shows. Blink 182 cancelled a bunch of shows to finish their album or some shit and I didn’t see this site lose their damn minds.

Like I said, she’s a very talented artist but she’s made a real ass of herself lately and people keep making excuses for it and it sucks. Like this very site makes it a point to hold every artist accountable for their actions so why the free pass here? This isn’t some 16 year old starry eyed kid struggling to understand what is the right thing to do, this is a grown ass woman who should know better than to not honor her professional commitments she made for a dead awards show. Plus, it’s not just that she’s cancelled the shows, it’s also how she’s made insincere apologies about this and basically trying to act like wrecking thousands of people’s plans that involved travel and lodging is just no big deal.

Like sorry, but I don’t buy this fake and hollow act of artist integrity she’s selling based on her actions and if you wanna ignore and buy what’s selling, more power to y’all.

 

Glad this thread is mostly rational, saw a Reddit thread that wants her canceled. She’ll reschedule the shows, this is like not a thing.

 

Sometimes people do the right thing for the wrong reason.
