Also, came to post this. Interesting that they are planning to do a similar release strategy as the last album where they put things out as she is ready, but it's good they are supporting her if that what she wants to do.

 

I was genuinely tempted to buy tickets for one of her europe shows as so hard to get a ticket in the UK. Kinda of glad i didnt seeing that.

Reference her piece about crazy stalker fans. I think the reality of this is that most major artists suffer from this, which doesnt make it acceptable. I imagine once you draw such a large fanbase the % change of having some crazy fans inherently increases. Although, I think it is probably unrealistic not to expect fans to ask for a photo these days if they get the opportunity. Its the modern day version of an autograph. Again whether thats right or wrong is a debate, but its been in the industry for many decades.

 

This is the second rescheduling for Berlin. This show was supposed to replace Lollapalooza and now it’s being pushed back with only two days notice.

Damn, I think her management team really fucked up on this one. Her tweet announcing it has almost 7k quotes already.

Ultimately, it probably won't end up mattering but the optics are not great.

honestly indefensible behavior. my best friends had tickets including flights booked to see her in Berlin... and that got moved to a larger venue too so it's hard to pretend it wasn't to make more money.

lucky for her she's incapable of writing a song that isn't a bop.

^^Seems like it is the easiest solution. She said she is pretty much booked up for 2025 so if she has an European dates that should be the move.

Based off recent comments, it seems like the final decision was most likely hers, but it pretty much just kind of seems like a collective failure to realize what needed to be done if she was going to take the VMAs gig and when to make these decisions. But I can also empathize that this been a hard situation to manage because of how quickly she has blown up, and that it could be a hard opportunity to pass up. Hopefully it's learning experience for them.

 

but in all seriousness and sort of only tangentially related: just how relevant are the VMAs nowdays?

 

I mean it's a pointless award show and it's literally one of the only things MTV airs besides ridiculousness lol. But there is still relevance to being a performer on the show and the stars in the industry show up, like even Taylor Swift attended to accept the awards she won last year.

It sucks, but also people have to learn there's risk with booking trips for shows. There's always the chance the artist could cancel and if it happens, you should have a back-up plan.

People have every right to be upset, but yeah if it were me, I would still just go and find something else to do rather than getting mad online and demanding something that probably isn't going to happen

 

100% she's winning some kind of award. They basically have to promise big performers showing up that they're coming away with some kind of hardware. I think it would be her first big award, so obviously something that holds weight with her.

That said, I still don't see why they couldn't just do a satellite performance and if she wins, have her accept the award overseas.

I also think it's hilarious that anyone would expect or demand to be refunded for the travel. When in the history of the world has an artist ever covered fans traveling from other destinations. You can be upset at the short notice, but the artist could literally fall ill the day of the show and have to cancel, it's no different.
