He has truly fallen off IMO and his recent work convinces me he has nothing worthwhile to rap about anymore.
He came out during Kygo at Lolla and did No Problem, the highs & the lows (I think that’s what it was), and All Night and it was a lot of fun
It is passable as a track but honestly have had no desire to throw it on again since first hearing it. It’s possible i’ve outgrown Chance, idk, but his lyrics and production are not doing it for me anymore. His vocal delivery has also been hit or miss for me, which was never a problem for me before.
Definitely just feels like single releases, and no indication of an album or project has been made yet
Child of God, A Bar About A Bar and The Highs and Lows all have similar key art however, so they at least feel tied together thematically
Yeah he's been hinting that all of these songs that are coming out along with the art pieces are all from one project, whether that's an album or just a compilation or something They're all really good though, especially Highs and Lows, I think that's his best song in years
I really think that in general the Chance hate is ridiculously overblown, but I also do agree that he sounds relatively uninspired atm
So I guess he announced a new album. It’s called Star Line Gallery. There’s already a genius page up for it with a track list https://genius.com/amp/albums/Chance-the-rapper/Star-line-gallery but when he was on Fallon the other day Fallon mentioned in the introduction “His new album Star Line Gallery will be released later this year”.
“He’s been back for a few months now, and we meet at the Grammy Award–winning artist’s second home, which he calls House of Kicks—a sweeping Victorian Chicago domicile nestled at the end of a winding cul de sac in a quiet suburb outside of the city. Chance purchased the house roughly two years ago and converted it into an all-purpose creative space to work on his new album coming in the next few months, Star Line Gallery, and collaborate with artists of all disciplines.” Album still coming in 2022 it seems, three previous singles are on it.
