I never listen to 10 Day, don't like anything about it. Acid Rap never did anything for me other than Interlude, Favorite Song, Cocoa Butter Kisses and that's maybe it. I don't even remember most of the other songs by name

Chance needs to stop searching his name on Twitter.

Album was terrible and he's either become insufferable or just got worse at hiding it. They're right, he completely threw away his reputation with sub par music and becoming an annoying personality who's obsessed with what people think of him on twitter. Major fall.

"Coloring Book" came at the right time for me and I think still holds up pretty well. It was a great period for Chance where he was helping out schools, selling out shows, killing it on features, etc. But yeah, he fell off hard.

I'd love to see him come back, but that would mean he has to log off.

I do agree Coloring Book he was at his peak. Wish we could go back to that era.

Everyone should watch Pop Star Never Stop Ever Stopping, great downfall of a popstar story

I think Chance just got super hopped up on being recognized by Kanye and it took over a bit. And as nice as it is that he found happiness with his marriage and religion, it's definitely the type of thing that can get a bit tired for some people hearing about for a whole album

    Chance is the anti-Cudi

Where Cudi improved because of working with Kanye, Chance got worse

I've been a fan of Chance since before Acid Rap even came out and I noticed that it was around Coloring Book that he started getting a lot more bigheaded. Started namedropping a ton and seemed to start becoming more and more of a corporate celebrity (even with his huge anti-label push which I still hugely respect)

I'm still a big fan of the guy and I really want him to make an amazing comeback with his next project but I also kind of want him to humble himself a little bit

While I still think it’s true that people were chomping at the bit for him to release a bad record, this project feel so bloated and lackluster. I’m not sure if I can remember any of the songs off the top of my head other than the Ben Gibbard song or “hot shower”, and that doesn’t necessarily mean “good” memorable either.

A lot of people think its the subject matter, that they don't like an album this religious or about him being in love and getting married. But Coloring Book was real religious and I think that's a good album.

He could have made a great album with those themes, but this was not it, this is a bad album full of bad songs that seem hollow and meaningless. No wonder none of them have caught and the only thing I can remember from this is the parody video making fun of it.

It's pretty amazing because if you told me like five years ago that he'd have an album with En Vogue, SWV, Randy Newman and Death Cab, I'd be absolutely shocked that it was bad. He 100% stretched himself too thin over those songs and chose some pretty bland beats.

TBH I dug some of the songs he dropped on his twitter after The Big Day during early pandemic. I think he’s still got potential to tap into... just needs to take a step back and really evaluate where hes at artistically. I think Big Day, more than anything, needed focus.

edit: I also love his verse on Spilligion (which is surprisingly relevant to this discussion) and the pre-Big Day singles too.

The problem with The Big Day, for me, was how bloated it felt and how there weren't that many standout tracks. With that being said, that's the same problem that I have with 99% of the major pop rap albums that have come out for the past 10 years. His album was not an outlier for how bad it was. It was just disappointing that it did not really have the spark of the other few releases. I definitely think that if were released earlier in his career or at a time when he wasn't as satiated on social media, it would have been more warmly regarded. People turned on him before the joint even dropped and didn't give it a...chance

If I recall correctly there wasn’t even a lead single and the promo wasn’t really there. It was dead on arrivial

The whole rollout felt like it was handled in a very Kanye way. There was no lead single or big hype song like he did with "Angels" for "Coloring Book." The album was bloated with unfunny skits that seemed to craft a narrative that didn't exist on the songs. Some of the features were weird and the album ended on a strange note with that Nicki verse on "Zanies and Fools." I do agree that If he pared it down to 10-11 songs, the reaction would have been more kind.

Yeah, the release itself was a total mess. You forget that "Groceries" was the lead single for most of the rollout as well, lol. What a trash song.

I semi-defended it when it was released, but yeah. An incredibly inconsistent and boring release. Hope he does a better job next time out.

When I first listened, I was into a few tracks, but I haven't revisited it much at all. I still kinda like Zanies and Fools I guess. And the opener is better than All We Got imo

    Good songs from this album:

    All Day Long
    Do You Remember
    Eternal
    We Go High
    Roo
    Sun Come Down
    Town on the Hill
Zanies and Fools if you cut Nicki out

    Okay songs:

    Let's Go On the Run
    Handsome
    Get a Bag

Songs I have no recollection of:

    I Got You
    Big Fish
    5 Year Plan
    Slide Around

    Bad songs:

    Hot Shower
    The Big Day
    Ballin Flossin
    Found a Good One

The album isn't terrible, it's just bland and forgettable. Also, not a single song in the "good" column matches up to even the worst songs on his other three projects. I just never go back to anything from it
