Acid Rap is the best. My favorite release from him next to 10 Day. Ah shit, are we gonna do it? (I know Surf isn't technically his project but I still included it) Acid Rap>10 Day>Coloring Book>Surf>The Big Day My favorite song (Prom Queen) is on 10 Day though.
Coloring Book has the most of his best tracks imo, but my all time favourite is on Acid Rap (“Lost”). Surf is also very good. “Wanna Be Cool” and “Warm Enough” have always stuck with me, along with “Sunday Candy” obviously. This is a great deep cut from shortly after Surf, I believe. I don't really have a favorite album from him honestly, I don't think any album he has released has been any good as a whole. They all have great songs, but they all have too many misses
10 Day is tough to listen to beginning to end, but Prom Night is great. Acid Rap is definitely his best project, imo. Lost, Pusha Man, Chain Smoker, Juice....damn I might have to throw that on now.
Acid Rap hasn't aged as well as I would have hoped, but it's still got plenty I enjoy. Acid Rain is great. I don't remember much of 10 day but Prom Night and Brain Cells are two of my favourite chance tracks. Miracle is the best thing on Surf, I love that song dearly. These are my Chance takes for today.
Honestly, I wonder if he has the ability to create a masterpiece a la Kendrick, Frank, Kanye, etc. or if he already hit his peak and The Big Day is the start of his complete downfall.
I think too many of his best songs aren't even on his albums, I don't know why that is... Summer Candy, Ultralight Beam, All My Friends... there's moer
I have a feeling his album was totally different (and better) and he scrapped it for what he thought was a better concept, and it was a dud. He played that awesome unreleased song on Colbert, and then released a solid 4 song EP. I Might Need Security and Wala Cam were great. I think he tried to get way too creative and was over thinking it and we ended up with a dud of an album.
Acid Rap is his masterpiece. One of my favorite rap projects of all time I was really hoping it was going to be the launching point for an amazing career but nothing he's done since has touched it, though I did like Coloring Book
Cool to open with Do You Remember. As disappointing as The Big Day was, I feel like that song goes underappreciated.
