Bruh, how you gonna go from calling RDR2 the worst game in the world in the video games thread, to coming here acting in amazement when anyone says this is only half decent?

 

A 0 is just to get clicks and create controversy. Its even too over the top, a 3-4 would be a hard enough pan without seeming vindictive.

 

I want it on record that I did not start this, but: Because it’s good and Red Dead 2 isn’t? ;D

 

I'm WAY more into this album than I am Coloring Book. Still doesn't come close to 10 Day or Acid Rap, but I'm enjoying it.

 

I will say I'm finding more to like about this, some of the songs are starting to stand out. Still plenty on here that I don't need though.

So many people in here have been publicly working out their feelings on the record and expressing the fact that they wish they liked it more, but go ahead and chalk it up to some anti-Chance agenda

practically every negative review i’ve read of this is just the “ol happy ass” meme in paragraph form!

 

This. Nobody In here is gleefully shitting on this and pretty much everyone’s who doesn’t like it has articulated why, meanwhile the same three people.

Maybe the knives were out for him because he’s been progressively doing shit that made people weary. It’s not a conspiracy. People can change their opinions and expectations on someone without it being this whole “he’s set up for failure because people wanna score cool points” thing.

 

Oh I absolutely think a ton of it is for cool points, and I’ve only listened once

anyone struggling with this record on this thread: i get it but i also don’t, i really think this is chance maturing on every level. i don’t even think it’s that corny; his more relaxed approach to rapping tempers that corniness. there’s a lot of interesting and beautiful space on this thing, and his work hasn’t had much space in it before. so again: i get it, but i also don’t

 

i think the “i love my wife” meme is pretty racist bc, afaict, it’s a white man affecting a black man’s voice to clown on his record, but i’m currently getting hated on and misgendered at rym for advancing this thought so ymmv

 

I haven’t seen a lot of worked out, well explained negative opinions, mostly just stuff that doesn’t hold much weight tbh

That’s not to say you can’t like it

 

I should also say that this is without a doubt his worst release since 10 Day. It lacks the quirk and creativity that I think set him apart. But it's him rapping his ass off and doing some cool stuff and it certainly doesn't deserve to be mocked.
