Checked out 10 Day for the first time and wasn’t terribly impressed tbh. There’s some good stuff on there, sure, but the leap he made between that tape and Acid Rap is tremendous.
I must be in the minority that prefers 10 Day to Acid Rap and both of them to Coloring Book. I honestly can't even get into Coloring Book.
As a whole I think I prefer acid rap, but I love 10 day a lot. I hardly listen to coloring book in full anymore but I still listen to a few tracks pretty often - summer friends, juke jam, no problem, same drugs, and smoke break get frequent spins.
Coloring Book was huuuuuge for me Summer 2016. Haven’t gone back as much since, but that was in heavy rotation all summer that year.
Man I had only heard Acid Rap once or twice before. Been listening nonstop since it got put on Spotify. It’s brilliant!!!
It's Acid Rap>Coloring Book>10 Day for me but I love all three I'm starting to get the feeling Acid Rap may have been his peak for me though, when previously I always thought of it as just the start. Would love for this album to prove me wrong though
Also in the acid rap > coloring book > 10 Day camp mostly because the highs on coloring book are higher than the ones on 10 day. I think 10 day benefits a lot from context and sounds really good as a starting point for what is to become acid rap and coloring book, but on its own it is just good, not amazing.
I don't really like any of his projects in full but I probably would lean towards the last two posts rankings
Coloring Book>Acid Rap>>>10 Day CB is far and away his most focused and realized effort and it still has all of the great stuff from the first two tapes. He only got better.
Haven’t ever listened to 10 day. Didn’t even know it existed until last week. That’s about to change now. I’ve been listening to Acid Rap on damn near repeat.
For the record I think the highs on Coloring Book are higher but Acid Rap is more enjoyable all the way through.
Acid Rap has “Lost,” which is the only song of his I feel I could potentially consider better than “Summer Friends”. Noname’s verse really does something to me.
