This album didn't hold up as well as I thought it was going to in 2016 but I'll still put on Same Drugs or Juke Jam now and again
This album absolutely seemed timeless when it came out and since then has absolutely lost some of its shine.
I've never been so high on an artist when first discovering them and then just not caring at all about them a record or two later.
Chance's singles, loosies & features > the better half of The Big Day > the better half of Coloring Book > Acid Rap > the worse half of The Big Day > the worse half of Coloring Book > the mixtape before Acid Rap
10 Day is way better than Coloring Book or Big Day EDIT: Wait I just noticed the rest of the ranking, wtf
Random singles (including his instagram singles) could make up an album on its own and that’d probably fit well between 10 Day and The Big Day. An argument could be made for it to be better than The Big Day
This was a fun mixtape during the summer of 2016. In retrospect, the cracks were starting to show of what was to come
All We Got - good in theory, bad in practice No Problem - fun Summer Friends - fine enough DRAM Sings Special - BAD Blessings - BAD Same Drugs - fine Mixtape - Absolutely terrible, almost as bad as Groceries Angels - Career high Juke Jam - fine All Night - fun How Great - BAD Smoke Break - BAD Finish Line / Drown - fine Blessings - BAD
way too harsh. No Problem, Summer Friends, Same Drugs, Angels, All Night, and Smoke Break are all fantastic songs.
I don't revisit this ever but my general feeling is that it was cool at the time, but hasn't aged all that well. It isn't better than Acid Rap. No Problem > Angels by far though
