Kit kat replied to my comment on Facebook and basically confirmed a longer version of the song is coming, I've never been this excited about selling out
The show tonight was awesome. Incredibly theatrical, and Chance sounds amazing and has incredible stage presence, even better than the first time I saw him. (don't read if you don't want spoilers for the show) There's a whole storyline to the show where he has various puppets come out and speak to him, and certain moments that are very heavily scripted and really well done, though I'm not quite sure I fully grasped the story and parts of what he was trying to convery. This was kind of bizarre at first, I think it took the audience by surprise and it took people a bit to get into the concept but by the end everyone seemed into it. Only real complaint, though it's not much of one, is that he focuses almost entirely on the new album (I think he plays every single song, including Grown Ass Kid), and only played four or so pre-Coloring Book songs the whole time, all of which were shoved right in the beginning of the show. I really missed Chain Smoker especially, it was always such an incredible closing song and now he doesn't even play it live. This is really my own personal complaint though, and it's probably mostly because I'm still learning Coloring Book while I basically have everything from Acid Rap and 10 Day memorized. All of the new stuff sounded amazing.
From what I've heard this tour seems really designed to go with the album, future tours might have more of a mix.
Loved seeing him at MIA but wish he didn't consider that a Philly date on the tour. Nothing like what was described
Oh yeah I'm sure, it is called the Magnificent Coloring Tour after all. I plan on never missing Chance when he comes to my area from now on
My stop of tour got pushed back a few weeks. Bummed to have only found out a few days beforehand but at least I know for sure it's being made up soon. Dying to see this show.
I wound up selling my ticket because I'm moving and completely broke. I'm okay with it though since I now have money for a second Ye ticket.
I saw him live that weekend of the pic opening for some Taylor Gang nobodies at a bar with @Fucking Dustin with like maybe 30 people. Crazy how far he is now.
really hope i get to see him someday. the crowd was so huge for his ACL performance a year or two ago and I missed out on tickets for coloring the world. all his videos are perfect.
Definitely a respectable move. That being said, I actually never put the two together, that it was a play on his name
Yeah, I never really put that together either – although now that it's been pointed out it's super obvious – but I just changed the name of the artist on Surf in my iTunes to Nico Segal & The Social Experiment.
Never put it together either. Maybe he didn't really have to worry about the name change after all, but still probably a good move.
