generally I like to keep the track list the same as the artist released it but for this one I really just want a consistent listen so I'm going to edit mine. Probably going to be something like this??? 1. Finish Line 2. No Problem 3. Israel (Sparring) 4. DRAM sings Special 5. Blessings 6. Same Drugs 7. Angels /pause/ Summer Friends 8. Juke Jam 9. All Night 10. Smoke Break 11. Grown Ass Kid 12. How Great 13. Drown 14. Blessings (reprise) nothing against Mixtape, I actually really like that song it's just too drastic of a shift and it sounds better as a one off song to me. Something against All We Got though, Chance's verses are good but that hook is not good and whoever let that mix get through is crazy and Finish Line sets the right vibe for the rest of the tape without that and was the original opener until Kanye probably got in the mix. Israel is one of my favorite Chance songs so I think it needs a proper home, plus more Noname! Grown Ass Kid is great too and is where Chance wanted it to be :- ) sure some of y'all think it's whack but those who don't let me know if you got any suggestions
also is thundercat on blessings (reprise)??? that sounds like his bass sound and skill but maybe it's just another great bassist with an envelope filter lol would be cool if he was..
Kaytranada played an unreleased song last night. Between that and the one track that didn't get its sample cleared, I'm wondering if this will be expanded whenever it goes for DL.
I seriously doubt he ever will, that's not how he makes his money Would love some legit vinyl pressed tho
He did say at some point that he wants to release a trilogy of mixtapes before releasing his debut album. So I could see his next full project being a paid album.
"Mixtape" is awesome, especially the hook and Chance's verse, but it really doesn't fit too well on this, especially its placement between "Same Drugs" and "Angels." Would've worked better on Acid Rap
going through my first spin and sorry if this has been addressed before, but wtf's up with the mixing on the first track - cool jam, tho
Mixtape I really like. But as mentioned by others I think sonically and thematically it doesn't really fit on this. Kind of takes me out of the record at the mid point. Only gripe. Love everything else
