Quoting this because it's been so strange to watch Vic Mensa's career. He's literally adapted to every single trend and only been mildly successful at all of them, all while watching his friends get famous. I loved him for a minute until he signed to the Roc and became insufferable imo.

 

I guess so. I never really liked spotify. always thought it looked odd.

exactly. never liked it. I like the apple music interface a lot more. at least what I've used thus far.

 

exactly this. didn't really think about that being the issue until you mentioned it.

 

This is the reason one of my friends won't switch to Apple. He likes sharing his playlists with friends and they exclusively do that. Sounds terrible to me because I also just like albums. Unless Im at a party I guess but still.

 

can't say i've ever had that as a problem as a primarily album listener. but i've seen it raised a few times so it must be an issue. i find both spotify and apple music to be terrible on phones so i stick to spotify because i have all my albums already saved to my profile on that and my 2016 playlist is on there. if they upgrade the AM app and allow me to sync my music across I'd probably move simply for the exclusives

I use spotify only and listen to albums on it 99% of the time. Only on mobile though, PC app is crap

 

i'm not saying it doesn't work for albums, i'm just saying the program isn't optimized towards full album listening, while i feel apple music does better at that

ah realised why i hate apple music. the fuckign artist profile of my bloody valentine has their photo as mbv but they don't have mbv up there like wtf that's cruel.

 

He has great potential but I doubt it. I've met a handful of people who've met Vic, he's really focused on following the standard path to being a successful rapper, and also kind of an asshole apparently. Like Down On My Luck is an amazing song but he'll probably have two or three No Chill type standard tracks for everything interesting on here.

At least there'll be another chance verse mixed with some solid stuff.

 

Mixtape is fucking awesome and Thugger kills it as always. Lil Yachty's verse is better than expected, so I'm just gonna go right ahead and say it's a pretty decent feature. The only feature I don't care for is 2Chainz and that's because he can't ride the beat for shit.

One of my favorite moments of this whole release is Summer Friends, and it just keeps going and going, and you're like "where's Jeremih wtf?" and then he comes in at the last thirty seconds and delivers. Fucking love it.

 

He used to be a very nice guy, but since going from KTD to solo stuff, I've heard the same stories and it sucks.
