Kehlani's You Should Be Here and The Civil Wars' Barton Hollow have been nominees, off the top of my head. It's not unprecedented, but not necessarily likely either.
To be fair, kehlani signed with Atlantic the week after the tape came out. Lotta people think they already had their weight behind her, plus after that I think it probably got a push.
I feel like Friday is a good guess - right after his Fallon performance when iTunes updates? Seems like a good place to be like "go download my new album for free on iTunes" - assuming it'll obviously be a free download just like Surf was.
I'm not so sure it'll be Friday, earlier this week when he revealed the art and posters and stuff he tweeted something like "These next few weeks will be the biggest fan-driven album rollout ever" I'm really hoping "next few weeks" includes after the tape is out
I'm hyped for tonight, and betting on Kanye and Beyonce features, maybe finally a song with Kendrick too.
Trying not to get my hopes up that this will be out tonight/tomorrow but I sure as hell would love to be listening to this soon.
the facts we know are, he's playing fallon tonight with no new single, and new music goes up on thursday nights/friday mornings. makes way too much sense. at the very least we get a new song, but i feel like this isn't the release to only come out with a single first
hah i thought she might h ave been in the studio with him. i wouldnt bank on beyonce showing up anywhere near a free track.
