Idk man, I think most people here are aware of that already. Kinda seems like a post about his fight with cancer isn’t exactly the place.

I get what you’re saying, but people don’t really keep it separate. Every time something like this comes up it turns into “he’s a legend” and everything else just kinda gets ignored. With Chad, yeah cancer sucks, no one’s arguing that. But that doesn’t suddenly change how he’s been as a husband/person. That part doesn’t just disappear because the situation is sad now.

It’s kinda like when someone spends years being awful and then “finds Jesus” at the end and everyone acts like that wipes everything clean. Like, okay, maybe they changed, but that doesn’t erase what already happened.

So yeah maybe it’s not the perfect place to bring it up, but acting like it shouldn’t be mentioned at all is how people end up pretending the bad stuff never existed.

I just genuinely don’t believe that’s true. I appreciate you engaging with it in good faith, but I think the majority of posters here are very aware that his marriage with Hayley Williams was bad. And I would have no problem if you commented that on every new album news or show announcement or whatever. I just think “they’ve found three new tumors on my brain and I can’t control the left side of my body” isn’t the time or place. But to each their own I suppose.

You’re not edgy for posting he was a bad husband when he’s dying of cancer. That’s between him and his partner, have some humanity.

Sitting and typing on your little screen about someone you know next to nothing about with absolute certainty as though you’ve never made a personal mistake or error in your life.

It must be nice to live a life so self righteous.

Of which doesn’t affect you in the slightest. Two things can be true: he was a bad husband and he’s dying of cancer. I hope you never have to experience the latter.

    England.

Seems like setback after setback and this one is a big one. He’s a fighter though and hopefully he can continue kicking its ass. He’s come through so much already.

It says a lot about someone’s intelligence when they don’t understand that people can be more than one thing. It’s symptomatic of this desperate cancel culture but the reality is if we turned on every musician / actor / sports star who did something morally (not illegally) wrong there’d be few left. Sadly, I think this was purely to get some kind of interaction with people.

All of us have made mistakes in our lives, every single one of us. To kick someone while they are down with cancer is beyond horrific. He now has a child and in their eyes chad is their everything, remember that when you make your horrific comments. As a father myself I could not imagine having to be in this position while a wife and child depending on my income and everything else. Humanity people we cannot lose this.

Some absolutely disgraceful comments going on here… People make mistakes, we’re all navigating life.. I always hark back to Set Your Goals “My life is constant work in progress and I wouldn’t have it any other way” - MOST people deserve a chance at Redemption… life is complicated, context is important, no one is perfect (not even you) so STFU and keep your thoughts to yourself if you aren’t a fan.

    .

I’m one among the many who have done things I regret. I only hope when I go through the trials that come for me in my life that they won’t be held above my head and gloated upon the way these sick people do these days. Life’s hard and nobody is perfect. Why can’t a lot of people seem to understand this?
