This movie is just something else man. Cooper plays such a fully formed character in his subtle performance, and Dakota just nails it. I was already in love with this movie but my lord the beat of Downtown, one of my favorite songs ever, plays in the car when he’s breaking down, was such a crystallization of the feelings in my own experiences when that song was a big part of my life. Just connected with that feeling significantlybest soundtrack in a while too
This movie is fucking perfect. Please let Cooper make whatever he wants. Gonna go rewatch shithouse now.
omg at it starting with The Show Goes On It's so nice seeing autistic characters played by autistic actors, I think this and Everything's Gonna Be Okay are the only time I've ever seen that, and I liked that Lola is a person who's super cool liked this even though no human is named Domino and I would last like 30 seconds in a room with Andrew before feeling like I was gonna have a panic attack haha
As a current wedding DJ/ex-nanny, this had some very interesting parallels to my own life. I think this movie captured well the very specific kind of sadness you get when you realize you don't get to be a part of someone else's kid's life anymore.
Really loved this, even more than Shithouse, which is also great. I talked about it on my podcast this week: linktr.ee/filmsforthevoid
Hm this was okay. Don’t like it anywhere near as much as Shithouse. Found parts to be a bit too saccharine
I loved this movie, probably my favorite movie I’ve seen this year. Gotta echo the above that the soundtrack is very good.
Would I like Shithouse if I thought this was pretty-good-and-occasionally-great, but I cared a lot more about Domino and Lola than I did Andrew? Or, if I didn’t care for Andrew half the time, am I not really a Cooper Raiff fan?
