Saw it for Sundance and it's pretty fucking phenomenal. I'm pretty sure I would absolutely hate the main character IRL, but I guess Cooper Raiff is a genius and he was lovable af. Still haven't gotten around to watching Shithouse
I also saw it via Sundance and agree, this movie is really really good and I'm looking forward to watching it again. Just so earnest and charming. If you like Shithouse you'll like this.
I don’t know where else to post this but I watched Shithouse last night and absolutely loved it. Knew I was in for something special when it opened with Waxahatchee.
Interesting. Definitely sounds like a departure from his first two films. Harbour seems like a great choice. Color me intrigued.
Way cheesier (both in humor and emotions) than the actual movie is. Hate the misdirection of "look at the asshole fiance"
I personally don't think so but I guess it depends on your definition of "too much." It does outline the basic premise/point of tension pretty completely but that doesn't bother me with a film like this where it is more about the characters than some wild plot. Also, it does show some dialogue from a handful of key scenes but the tone/meaning of them in the trailer is pretty different than in the film. If you would rather not know that stuff in any context then probably avoid it.
It's just as good on second watch. Do not listen to (or even read) that godawful NYT review that was going around film twitter yesterday.
