I hear a lot of Los Campesinos influence on here, it’s got that same sense of bombast. Just an incredible record.
There’s like this perfect push and pull between bombast and restraint. And if you’ve ever experienced pregnancy loss, in any respect, this record is a gut punch.
from what i've heard this is great but it's so dense it's been hard to set aside time to truly get to know it.
First listen or two I found it difficult to get through cause of the length and my poor attention span. Grows on me with every listen though. Want/Need is absolutely massive.
Yeah it’s really a special album. Side note, as someone who lost a parent on Xmas eve Rhododendron hits especially hard with that one line lol.
Hard to imagine calling anything else AOTY at this point. This thing just feels too good to listen to.
I actually haven’t been able to bring myself to listen to this much bc of how relevant the lyrics are to stuff in my life. It would’ve probably made my end-of-year list. Hopefully I’ll be able to check this out eventually without it hitting so close to home.
i was listening to this on my speaker when i got in my bike accident last year and i haven’t gone back… i should fix that
