Del-del sets it up so nicely too! I've listened to a ton of music today and this still had the greatest effect on me

Ian Cohen tweeted about digging this record, hopefully that helps bring some attention to it!

I'll definitely revisit this sometime soon but, I gotta say, on first listen nothing even came close to hitting me as hard as Happy in Your Head. I think I was expecting more catchy pop-rock akin to that and got something a bit more aggressive throughout the majority of the record. It wasn't bad by any means tho, and I really like a lot of the production choices on this album (the drums sound really unique and cool). I'm expecting it to grow on me.

Took a few listens for this to grow on me but I really like it.

Does anyone know where I can read the lyrics?

And what is "Laundry Echo" about?

Haven't found the lyrics but there is a track-by-track on Roling Stone Australia.

    "Laundry Echo"
"But in this laundry everything is echoing now."
"This song is about writing 'Okay' (the first track on the record, the one I wrote ten years ago, remember?) in the laundry of the house that ''91, Your House' (you know, the metaphorical well place?) is about. Confusing, I know. Anyway, all you need to really know is that laundries have terrible acoustics. Everything echoes. This is somehow the third-out-of-fourth (I know that's terrible grammar) song, so far, about my family's child-hood home. Yikes. I'm sensing a pattern."

Thank you! A track by track is what I really wanted

Just came across this right before I checked notifications too Melbourne's Ceres capture the beauty of their live show in their 'Laundry Echo' video

Found this article about why this didn't print any lyrics and more insight into the album.

"here’s some dark and personal stuff in there, but I feel like printing lyrics is almost like giving someone a cheat sheet for the record. It’s too easy. I don’t want to just give people stuff on a plate. I want them to find out for themselves if that particular word really is what they think it is. I’d be pissed off if my favourite band did that to me. I love working out lyrics just when I’m listening to them. So now I’ve screwed everyone else over into the same thing.”

This album, for me, has a very similar punch to it as Home Like Noplace is There

It's not as good as my fav album of all time, ha, but it's definitely similar enough that I'd rec it to a hotelier fan

They mentioned something on twitter about working on getting the lyrics out. I would really like to find out what he's saying in some of these songs.

it's unreal. I don't know how to describe it but when it "drops" (for lack of a better term) until the end, absolutely killer.

With 14 tracks you'd expect a couple filler but I don't think there is one song I'd cut. Great lyrics, fantastic raw production [but still well mixed and recorded], and unique song structures and variety.

    AOTY contender for me.
