Ceres - Drag It Down On You (September 2, 2016) Album

Real sold release. Lots of feels and good guitar riffage!

I feel like this album could be really big. A lot of different sounds covered

 

I think a lot of dynamic rock fans would like this record.. vocals are a bit different but i could see fans of Manchester Orchestra, All Get Out, Brand New, Microwave, and others like them enjoying this album

 

all of those and Japandroids mixed in for the fuzz.

 

this album is amazing

 

all of the outlets that cover this "scene" should be pushing this album to the masses. to me, it has everything that you could want from a release. the songs are personal and cathartic, loud and fuzzy, angsty but smart. massive step up from their debut without losing their sound, it's just more more dialed in.

 

Noisey Australia premiered the video for Choke. I like this take on a lyric video...

I was hoping that Side One Dummy would scoop up all the Aussie bands and bring Camp Cope and Ceres on board. I kind of thought No Sleep would be defunct by now...

 

Tom Campesinos! produced this album, that fact alone means everyone should be listening to it.

 

it's 2AM in Australia... shouldn't it be out there digitally atleast?

 

Happy to have this on my phone now! Can't wait to binge it. It gets better with every listen

baby's breath is one hell of a closer. this thing delivers from start to finish.

 

For 14 tracks it goes by pretty quick too

 

The "I'm such a piece of shit, it's okay come on let's all admit it." Line fucks me up bad

 

I love "hope is just a hand to hold when you're alone"

 

Yea the run from laundry echo to talking is sick

 

This is one good album. I need to give it more time but I dig it. "Choke" gives me Turnover vibes.

 

So good, I'm on my 5th or 6th listen and love every song

 

I'm still trying to figure out if I like this or not. Answer is probably yes since I've given it 3 listens.

 

Didn't hit me as immediately as their last record, but I think there's a lot more to digest here. There's a lot of people on this site who would love this band if they gave them a listen. It's a real shame they signed with No Sleep as their US label, seems to me like a huge wasted opportunity for them to actually get some momentum over there. Pretty stunned no one's signed Camp Cope yet, either.
