I have talked with a lot of celebs (mostly from the sports world) because of my job, this is not a full list but they're the ones that stick out in my mind right now:

- Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson: Not rude per se but very clearly wanted to be doing anything other than talking to me at that exact moment
- Dick Vitale: Exactly the same IRL as he is on TV
- Scott Van Pelt: The best, very generous with his time and gave thoughtful answers to everything I asked him
- John Harbaugh: Like Ochocinco, not exactly rude but he had extremely weird vibes, I don't really know how else to explain it
- Paula Creamer: Only had a brief chat but she was super cool and nice
- Dabo Swinney: Nice but in a way that seemed almost fake

One of the only Hollywood celebs I've talked to is Winston Duke, who was awesome and a super thoughtful guy. (This was post-"Black Panther" but pre-"Us.")

One non-work sports world sighting: I ran into hockey coach Bruce Boudreau at a movie theater once and he was holding the biggest tub of popcorn I've ever seen. (I forget what movie he was seeing but it was a superhero movie, this was probably 8-10 years ago.)

 

I used to work at Cost Plus World Market and a ton of celebs came in. Wendi McLendon-Covey was a regular and would come in a couple times a month. Adrian Young came in with his wife and I had to card them for buying alcohol. The guy that played Wallace in Veronica Mars came in a couple times. I think Mike Vallely came in once. Forrest Kline came in once, but this was before I knew he was a local so I was only like 90% sure it was him and was scared to say hi.

 

I met Danny Trejo in Vegas. He was super nice and talked about Heat with me.

 

I was on a walking tour in Venice when Willem Dafoe walked by me going in the opposite direction. I wanted to follow but I couldn't or I would lose my group! Haha. I didn't know at the time that he lives in Italy so I wasn't sure it was him, but it definitely was.

I literally bumped into Ethan Embry at a crowded show for a local band. Another case where I thought I was wrong, but I heard later from a friend of one of the band members that Embry was a fan.

i once saw Steven Tyler getting on Its A Small World

 

I thought this said "Steven Tyler getting it on at It's A Small World" and was like sir, that's illegal

No, my friend asked and I haven't seen him since...

 

I'm insanely jealous of this. I saw him at the improv years ago and met him after, got a poster signed, talked for a few minutes and left. I later found out that he wound up going to the piano bar next door afterwards and was rapping and playing the piano/drums, hanging out and drinking with the patrons til closing time. I wish I had (known to) stuck around.

 

My list continues to grow.

I just walked past Ty Burrell filming something.

 

One time I was walking out of UCB Franklin and ran into Giovanni Ribisi. Pretty sure he lives right there next to the Scientology Celebrity Center, not weird at all.

Another time walking the other way I ran into Donnell Rawlings.

 

you run into a lot of people. you should watch where you're going. haha

 

These celebs are out here running amok.

 

And you’re out there bumping shoulders with them like the “Bittersweet Symphony” music video.

 

I once saw Kevin Bacon driving by in a golf cart in Central Park, on his way to some kind of tv show/network event they were having in the park. My friend shouted “Tremors was an ok film!!” at him as he drove past.

 

Umm, Tremors is his BEST film

 

Celebrity Sightings All NBA Edition:

One time I saw Matt Barnes coming out of the Arclight.

Another time I drove by Trevor Ariza just standing on the corner being cool.

Danny Granger walked by me in the Cosmo in Vegas, he was on the phone and said, "This is Danny Granger, is my villa ready?"

It's funny how even if you don't recognize them right away, you just know this tall ass fool in expensive clothes is someone.

 

john malkovich told me to buzz off at ohare once (i was like 8 and being an obnoxious kid)

saw jason mraz with a comically large fedora also at o'hare

sat in front of diane keaton at groundlings once

was behind courtney barnett and stella from warpaint grabbing coffee/tea once

 

Spotted Michael Imperioli on Thursday while eating dinner

 

Saw Whitmer Thomas and Mitra Jouhari at the Paramore show on Saturday continuing my streak of seeing comedians at shows with Betsy Sodaro at Blink and Drew Tarver at Copeland.

 

I saw John Hodgeman at a Mountain Goats show once
