that whole EP is magic, I have it about on par with Jupiter

 

really hooked on perfect pitch black lately, that whole run from trepanning through down the drain is as good as anything in their discog

 

Really hope we get another record from these guys before long. Heavy Pendulum was terrific, and so much of the rest of their work finally clicked for me, since its release.

 

I need to finally check out their EP’s

You’re in for a treat. Tides Of Tomorrow is the perfect middle ground between Jupiter and Antenna. Planets Of Old contains the song that got me into the band for good, “Retina Sees Rewind”, which is a banger and, in retrospect, sounds more like what Stephen would write with Mutoid Man. There’s also a double single, Shapeshifter/Dead Already, which features Ben Koller on drums and sounds fucking insane.

 

tides is amazing, been using my half hour breaks at work to spend more time with eps i have on cd and that one in particular has been a major fixture for me

 

Dead Already is genuinely some of the craziest shit ever recorded

 

the new Verge has me on another big Cave In kick. hope we get another album from these legends soon, wouldn't say no to a tenth seminar from OMG either

Hum is playing huge shows. Failure is touring again. Heavy spacey shit is cool again. Seems like it would be a great time for Cave In to start doing stuff. Have the kids discovered them yet?
