*whispers* this might top jupiter and perfect pitch black for me final transmission is great but it’s so buried in the loss of caleb/a lot of the songs being barely fleshed out demos. this feels like a true return from white silence.
I don't think anything is gonna top Antenna as my favorite Cave In record, just because without it I possibly would have never gone down the rabbit hole of punk, hardcore, metal, etc. Huge record in terms of shaping the music I became interested in. But I would love to eat crow and have this record top it.
such an interesting top pick haha. i’ve come around on it massively the last few years but i used to haaate it
I'm a casual fan of this band at best, so this probably is incorrect, but I feel like every time I go to listen to something new they've put out, I'm listening to a completely different band than the one I remember previously. That being said, this album is some pretty great stuff. Lovin' it.
he... kind of is, it feels like he's forcing this grungey croon a little bit and sometimes it just sounds weird, irregardless of him being a great vocalist overall this album is great, beautifully produced and tracklisted, Nate absolutely kills it and the 70 minutes fly by. it's probably their second weakest album. that's just how good this band is
i really truly don’t hear anything in his vocals different from going back to jupiter. if anything, it’s less histrionic, with not of the high pitched stuff like in the stream of commerce
In Miami on a bachelor party trip and started this yesterday before activities and wrapping it up now. Really special album and like others said Nate brought a lot to this album. Searchers of Hell and Careless Offering were my first two initial favorites. Can’t wait to jam this all summer.
His vocals sound way more confident than they did on Jupiter. Which I get. I could be wrong but IIRC he got actual vocal training around the time of Antenna
album rocks ass and has been blasting nonstop in my house since I got it Wednesday evening cooked dinner last night and couldn't stop walking around going "fresh keeeeeeel"
Never thought I'd see this much love for Cave In on here. Happy there seem to be a bunch of new fans too.
