Girlfriend recently moved in, which means so did the cat. This is apparently an existential transition for her:
haha such great timing for my dad to post this of his cat. Merlin decided it was a good day to dust the basement:
Chester hates the car and whines constantly if ever in one. I randomly decided to try taking him on the subway and he didn't make a peep and seemed chill. I guess he just really hates cars. I think he's making a statement about pollution and how public transportation is a better option.
we try to give our cats some gabapentin before long car rides because they just yowl the entire time. actually it's mainly our cat Keebler who hates the car, but our other cat Peanut Butter responds to him and suddenly it becomes a symphony of unusual cat noises the entire time.
Gabapentin gets my cat so stoned, it's hilarious. Weird how it doesn't have that affect on me, I take 1000mg a day
My vet gave my cat some gabapentin to help cut his claws since it’s such a challenge. It actually helped. My cat also hates car rides but I haven’t needed a long trip and afraid to try
Hope you don’t mean declawing when you say cut his claws. Thought that was considered inhumane bc it’s literally part of their bones
I'd imagine they'd need to be put under if they actually got declawed. I'd never declaw my boy, whenever I trim his nails though I do get a few bites / scratches and have the cuts on my hand and arm to prove it lol
My parents declawed our cats growing up. I never thought much of it because I was just a kid and figured that a vet would know best. When I met my now-fiance and she explained how inhumane it was, I was horrified. Thankfully my cat just whines and gets squirmy when cutting her nails, but has never bitten or scratched
Yeah my cats growing up did as well. My mom became a big cat lady later in life tho and now is super against it after understanding that. She feeds a cat colony behind a 7/11, actively fixes strays, and fosters kittens to find them a home.
