My cat just started making this “coughing” sound. At least that’s the best way I can describe it. I tried researching causes. I’m paranoid I have to take him back to the vet. He was in er for a few days last week. I just want my baby to be ok. I’m worried. He’s all that I have.
Not sure. I don’t know how to tell. He’s only done it a couple of times. The first time I heard him he was eating and I thought he was chocking. He’s almost 3
Hmm I was going to say maybe asthma if it was on the exhale, but if you’ve had him for three years, I feel like that is a little unlikely, unless you have moved recently. I’d try to get a recording of it, and take him and that to the vet. I noticed someone said he was recently in the ER for surgery? That could also be the cause. idk if you’re with petsmart or not, but if you are, and are on the plan, it doesn’t hurt to take him in with a video
He was there for a bladder block. He was just on a catheter. Thankfully surgery not needed! The problem is it would be hard to get a video unless he does it more frequently. I don’t know when it’s coming. I need to take him in for a follow up in a couple weeks, but i don’t want him to get worse and have to go sooner
Yeah I understand, coughing is very hard to get evidence of. It took us like two months to get a video of our cat doing it. Hopefully you can get evidence and take him in, and hopefully it is something minor and temporary!
