personally I’m a heavy sleeper, so I hardly hear him. But my SO wakes up about 5:30/5:45 for work anyways, so he’s basically just another alarm clock for her, haha. We have a big window over our bed so when he’s up he will run through the blinds to get our attention. We finally got him to a routine where we just feed him quarter of a bowl every morning, so he knows when it is time to eat, haha. When we moved in together late summer of last year we didn’t have a routine for him and he would sometimes get fed twice a day from both of us, haha. He was twelves pounds his check up last spring but I bet he’s like fourteen/fifteen now. He has a thick coat of fur so he looks bigger than he actually is also, haha.
Lmao right!!! I say this all the time I’m always like “yeah Potey surprisingly I’m NOT going to go to bed without feeding you, considering I’ve never done that in your entire life” but in realness when I moved out I had to switch up his feeding routine because he became an entire pain in my ass Meowing incessantly starting at 6 am when his schedule back then was being fed at 9-10am Closing the door means he just scratches at the door so now I feed him a full ass cup before bed, it’s the only way that gets him to not demand food in the wee hours of the morning
I’m really worried. For the past year or so with my (admittedly favorite) cat, we’ve been battling what we thought was IBS/food intolerance. We’ve been trying many different things to handle it, some saw progress and some didn’t, but it’s never fully gone away. Vet is starting to wonder if it’s something else. Vet wants to run more tests. Could be something as simple as bacterial infection in the intestines to something more serious such as GI cancer. you guys were here back in August when I lost my other cat suddenly to cancer, and it’s scarred me to where my mind instantly goes to the worst possible place when the vet is involved. I’m panicking.
Oh man, sending good vibes dude, I know how much losing your cat over the summer affected you. I'm sure it's just something like an infection but understand the deep fear.
Update: Beast is good! Vet thinks it’s inflammatory bowel disease and the bacteria. Sending him home now. He will have to be on a novel protein diets and probiotics for the rest of his life possibly steroids too but that’s a small price to pay for his health
My cat was just napping, and had these small twitches in his paws and tail going on. Cutest thing I’ve ever seen
Haha love when my cat does that. I feel like it's more common in dogs though.. I vaguely remember having to wake up my chocolate lab occasionally as a kid because he was clearly having some sort of nightmare hah
