I started a little tape label and put out our first release a few days ago. A compilation of independent punk/hardcore bands. Only 25 tapes were made.
I rarely buy cassettes but got this tonight from seeing best ex got the candy hearts rarities cassette
Arm's Length put their latest album on cassette as a FYI: There's A Whole World Out There - Cappuccino Swirl Cassette – Pure Noise Records
Insane haul from Torn Light in Chicago last weekend. L-R: Brett Naucke - Multiple Hallucinations, Patrick Shiroishi & Eldar Tagi - Flock, claire rousay - I'll Give You All Of My Love
I also designed these 2 tapes over the last couple days. It's a new template I've been toying around with, for double album bootlegs.
What templates do you guys use? I never had much luck in finding hi-res images besides what you see on Discogs...
It's a Napa Valley 100 Cassette storage rack: Napa Valley Box Company Wood Cassette Storage for 100 Cassettes. I think I found this one at the secondhand store. I have another one that my partner found at the thrift and painted black plus a 30 capacity one that I bought for releases from my friends (which is now full lol). They pop up on FB Marketplace/other various places all the time though. I also made one by hand that's just three shelves (so you place the tapes vertically). I'm deeply afraid to hang that one on the wall though (and also I told a friend they could have it if they didn't find a better one before I get it to them).
Yeahhh, I've never tried to hang my cassette racks because: A) it feels heavy as hell B) my kids would definitely mess with it C) It's bound to fall down and scare the hell out of me and anyone else nearby in the house. I'll check my local marketplace for a new one to fill as I filled my three (!) up.
I am gonna need to figure something out for continued tape storage. The one you see in this picture is just ambient/experimental stuff and it is overfull (just outside the frame is a couple stacks of 4 or so tapes lol)
These are what my racks look like after I did some Discogs inventory work and added a few more I previously didn’t have space for.
