Here's the first tape I'm putting out on my label. There have been some hiccups, but I'm pretty happy with how things have turned out so far.
When I was a young warthog.... .... There were music stores in the mall (not Strawberry's, but maybe Record Town?) and a machinie you could buy singles, and get them on a tape for $1. I had one with Toots and the Maytalls (Pressure Drop) among other songs. I remember Strawberry's and picking up some tapes there too. But then, when Newbury COmics hit.... that was the end of the rest of the places. Pure Heaven back then.
Swung into a record store for the first time in well over a year this past weekend, picked this up for $5, not baaaaaaad
Can't seem to track down a copy of mewithoutYou's "Catch For Us the Foxes" cassette. They must not have made very many. There aren't even any on Discogs.
Today's mail day: Sheer Mag - A Distant Call Cianide - Death, Doom, and Destruction Cianide - Divide & Conquer Caustic Wound - Death Posture Full of Hell - Trumpeting Ecstasy Remixes
That's a good-looking tape. Sending your comp tape out tomorrow. Always glad to be getting more frick. out into the world. Edit: Photos of said tape:
I am so tempted lately to buy a cassette tape from a band, instead of the vinyl. I dont have any way of playing the cassette, but that would make it only slightly more useless than the vinyl I buy and only play once or never open. ..the cassette is usually half the price of the vinyl too.
Buy cassettes. Cassettes are cool. You can still find decent decks and portable players at thrift stores or Ebay for pretty cheap.
Picked up a cassette deck and walkman off ebay for cheap :D Been picking up a couple older used tapes and really enjoying it. Do new release cassettes usually come with a download code for the digital files?
Depends. Some do, some don't. If they offer the cassette through bandcamp though you'll always get a download from the site.
Fellow tape peeps! Only 4 more copies of this frick tape are left! Side A is EP 5 and side B is EP 6. If you want some garage/lofi/punk rock stuff in your life, check it out.
