I think Philip mentioned recently that he was working on actual lyrics for a song and it was stressing him out.
a couple of songs on dust and disquiet had vocals, so that makes sense. im absolutely thrilled for this though, vocals or not, since that album is beautiful
I hope they do a couple Studio 4 stripped-down/alternate versions of the new tracks I haven’t heard yet.
Very interested to hear what Yip does with them. His work with Turnover, Circa and Menzies were huge wins for me, but I'm interested (and a little apprehensive because I loved D&D) to see what he does with Caspians sound.
Oh damn. I didn't know this was the same producer as Peripheral Vision and Keep You. This gives me so much happiness.
They mentioned a special release show in the Boston area late summer/early. I’d totally fly out for that
I was wondering what happened to their drummer. Also, am I just now realizing that they have a third guitarist that doesn't tour?
You’re right. Cal is next to Phil on the left. I’ve never seen him at shows, but he has a big role in the writing of the music. He does play on the Larcom Blu Ray.
That's crazy! They've been one of my favorite bands for the last 10 years and I never noticed that. Any reason why he doesn't tour? I can't imagine their live sound being any more massive than it already is.
He is a founding member of the band, too. I think he just has a family and would understandably want to stay at home with them.
He sings on Run Dry, right? I think I remember seeing an interview with Phil where he said Run Dry was Cal’s song.
They definitely have some vocals recorded for this record based off the Instagram posts. Yeah that’s him! Love that song.
I just binged a bunch of the KEXP, Audiotree Live, and Larcom performances. I can’t wait to hear the new record and see them play again
