I don’t know how that’s bait. I genuinely am curious. I only know that one song she did and the one she did with Owl City.
Been on a Carly Rae deep dive since I'm seeing her for the first time in August. I assume Emotion is the most beloved?
Then your first post doesn't even make sense. Give E M O T I O N a listen. She may have fallen off commercially but there's a reason she's become a critical darling and pretty much the face of poptimism, and that album has a lot to do with it.
Emotion is genuinely great. Run Away With Me, Emotion, Gimmie Love, Making the Most of the Night, LA Hallucinations, When I Needed You, Favourite Colour, Never Get To Hold You, and Store (its a B-Side) are all BANGERS, I frequently blast those songs.
Right? If you admit yourself you barely know an artist, just... don't mock them you know? Make it make sense
It’s not dumb to point out that she fell hard based on her singles and album charts. Pop music is defined by that. She is pop and yet doesn’t chart.
I didn’t mock. I like her just because she is essentially a one hit wonder if you don’t count the Owl City collab. It wasn’t random that the two of them collabed at the time. me mocking would be like “haha she has fallen so far”. No. I was just saying I was surprised.
If you don't count 2 top 10 hits, 6 hot 100 hits, three top 10 albums (4 top 20; b-side albums at 22 and 26 debuts), 5 pop airplay hits ... hell, "I Really Like You" has half a billion Spotify plays. This feels like ignorance of an artist's history, bait, or both, and the way it was worded definitely did not come across as genuine.
She is such a blast live! Every time I've seen her she's fantastic and brings a great energy. Are you seeing her headline or is it the shows she's opening for boygenius? I'm nervous that'll be the first time my bf sees her live because I worry the energy won't be as fun as her headlining shows since most people won't be there for her. I want him to get the full experience haha
Seeing her headline in NYC in Aug. Bonus for me because Poolside who I've also been trying to catch in opening so will be an excellent time. Not sure where you're located but it'd be a good show to trek out for.
Well, you were wrong. Maybe chill first before freaking out next time? Someone who hosts a message board should realize this.
