Happy Not Knowing might be my favorite on this

Overall, this album hasn’t really connected with me as much as I was hoping. As incredible as CRJ usually is, it takes a while before her songs make a significant impact (except for Run Away... and Cut to the Feeling - those were insanely immediate). There’s enough on here to keep me returning though, and I won’t give up learning and trying!

There’s a stretch in the middle that really blurs together for me, but goddamn, Feels Right is so great. Overall, I’d say I’m slightly underwhelmed, but not at all disappointed - it’s definitely good.

 

Breaking Benjamin has some bops

 

First full listen through - Tried to avoid all pre-released singles (apart from Party for One, just couldn't avoid it!)

Standouts are No Drug Like Me, Too Much, I'll Be Your Girl and Real Love

Massively against the grain I know but not really feeling Julien or Feels Right - The melody of Julien just does nothing for me and Feels Right unfortunately reminds me a little of Sam Smith (Which is never a good thing)

There's a very good chance that i'll end up loving everything on this eventually though

Everyone having different favourites here really shows how great this album is

 

The only song I don't love on here is Everything He Needs and it's some people's favourite. This album is special.

Weird to me that it's some people's favourite honestly, as it's the least Carly song on the album

 

It's actually grown on me after a few listens - but the first time I heard the chorus I pulled a face

 

I'm already skipping it. Don't need to hear that song when there's so much goodness on this album

 

As much as I love this album, Julien is not as good as an opener as Run Away With Me.

 

I think I've settled on Emotion being a better album than Dedicated, but Dedicated is a lot more consistent. The highs on Emotion are higher (especially if you factor in the deluxe/b-side tracks), but everything on Dedicated was a lot more immediate, whereas some of Emotion had to grow on me a bit

 

Emotion is one of the best albums of the decade so this had very little chance of being as good

 

I feel like it isn't possible to have a better opener than Run tho. Sis outdid herself there

 

RAWM might be my fave album opener ever. it just works in so many ways
