Once again saying that pop albums are too long now because of streaming. But I have faith she’ll actually make it interesting.

  7. Bands/artists have been making double albums forever. It's a simple "day" and "night" concept. It makes complete sense to me. If anyone complains it's too long, it's a listener issue, not an artist issue. Sit down, shut up, put your phone down, and just vibe out for 50 minutes. It's not that hard haha. Orrrrr... listen to each album separately, which is probably the way it's intended, anyway.

I expect day to be summer pop and night to be moody vibes

24 songs for 24 hours, I wonder if it's purposely crafted for the tracks to represent each hour

I don’t think I ever listened to any full release since the main Dedicated album? And besides revisited Emotion a bit last year for the anniversary, I haven’t really spent time with the material I was obsessed with for 5-6 years.

Not sure why. For some reason I can be fixated on an artist I love for a while, and then I’ll hit a point where I take a break (even if the work is still good) to follow other whims.

Anyways. That album cover is easily her most stunning imo, and the theme sounds great. Preordered the CD with the signature. Gonna avoid the singles, the classics, and the material I missed, and let the full double album drop be my proper return. Excited to fall in love with her music again.

i’m so stoked. i love carly so much. Loneliest/Loveliest is already a double album in my mind and they’re both her best work by a long mile imo imo. she perfected this really cool balance of genuine, heartfelt reflective pieces (surrender my heart, side by side, kollage, bends, keep away etc) while also showing a ton of playfulness (the tongue in cheek of beach house, shy boy’s second verse and overall tone of getting someone you’re interested in to open up and let loose, shooting star, anything to be with you, etc).

she’s the artist i’m most excited to see new stuff from; she’s a phenomenal songwriter and every time i go in with high expectations, she somehow still exceeds it. can’t wait
