Haven't listened yet but it sounds like it's still his vocals, just altered with AI, which I feel like is fine because it's an artistic choice similar to using a vocoder or something. Not that I'm super informed on that stuff though.
Yeah I’m not the most well educated on AI, I know enough to know it’s bad and that I hate it, but this just seems like a weird means of doing heavy vocal filtering/processing. It’s not like there’s any theft of artists or lack of intent so I personally am completely unbothered. I also don’t think tracks like Honey would work as well if it was his own vocals rather than what has been manipulated to feel more like a vocal sample. He also does use his own voice twice (atleast?) on the record and Dan seems like a smart guy so I’m assuming it was a pretty conscious conceptual choice.
Yeah agree - I only gave it one pass last night and it wasn’t really active listening, but it felt way more straight up dance and less variation than Suddenly. Never a bad thing to have while headed into these darker months though haha
