also going to rec my friends' old band, they're broken up now sadly but the EP they did (and the extra tracks) are just unreal, amazing mix of influences that were brought together for this

 

The Adjy people live in a town about 30 minutes from me, and they play a good amount of local shows. It always throws me when I see them mentioned (and to see who they've toured with). They're awesome though, and they deserve the attention.

 

I still gotta listen to adjy

 

they've only played here once and i'm so mad, haha

 

Gonna check this soon, I dig Square Peg Round Hole... how many members are shared between both bands?

Oh brother is a great "drivin' down the highway" kinda track

 

This is a very well written debut album. The songs are so varied and interesting. Production is top notch. Personally prefer strings over horns so I do wish they had used more cello.

 

took a while, but im starting to fall in love with this a ton

 

the sax in Oh Brother, good god

 

the best!!!!!!!

 

Gotta say I'm pretty happy the lead singer switched gears from his previous work into this.

yeah this band played the radio station a few years ago and i was...not having it, hahaha. going to give the square peg boys props for being so unbelievably talented and bringing out the best here

 

kinda got lost on the back half tbh. first 5 songs are real strong tho

 

The back half has the two strongest songs!

 

On repeat for me, becoming one of my favorites of the year

 

I don't really like Pontchartrain. The rest is good shit though.

I don't like the melody, or the lyrics. Poor after the great opening two tracks.

Yeah Pontchartrain rules. Evil goes on a bit too long imo. Another Night is probably the weakest on here. Reminds me of Them Again on Cardinal
