Can’t verify if this is true, but to make it even dumber, apparently they sent out some of the re-recorded songs already and lyrics have been changed to remove the cursing.

 

This has now been verified as true. Andrew responded to someone asking and said he believes it is due to Will’s “deep-dive into religion” and basically saying that he was in a different place 10 years ago than he is in now.

 

The original is perfect, this is so stupid

My first impression is that listening to Joe’s Story just makes me want to hear the original ToD instead

The Twin Fantasy re-recording was interesting bc of how different it sounded, but this feels more akin to George Lucas’ revisions to the original Star Wars trilogy in ’97; basically the same but the updates are too striking for it to recapture the initial spark

The new songs are fine but they’re no “Unforgiving Girl” or “Not What I needed”, “The Ballad of the Costa Concordia” makeover into “The Ravenous House” is the most diminishing returns of all the tracks, and the removal of curse words is a lateral move in the best instances. Joe’s Story is an album that’s better in theory than in practice

 

This is like the opposite of the Twin Fantasy re-record. It sounds worse than the original and all the changes are bad and it has no reason to exist and I don’t know why I would ever want to listen to it again.

Honestly can’t think of a band that has faceplanted as hard as CSHR since Teens of Denial came out. Like wtf happened. Twin Fantasy re-record is really good but after that it’s just a total mess, fumbled the bag. I was like….this band is going to be huge and headline festivals if they keep making rock songs like this. NOPE!

 

It’s insane how hard the fall off has been. This is such an unforced error too.

 

Yeah, it really sucks lol
