Ew, that's a pathetic look and like others have said reeks of jealousy. The Carrie and Lowell thing wasn't even in the same stratosphere; I imagine most anyone who likes music and talks about it often has said something similarly hot-takey about an album that it seems everyone loves but them.
Something about this sort of stuff just really rubs me the wrong way, I've also seen Mat Cothran of Elvis Depressedly take a few pot-shots on Twitter at bands in the scene who've gained a bit of momentum and it just comes across as being bitter and having a massive chip on your shoulder over others' success. It's all a bit Buddyhead - it was amusing to be an elitist asshole in 1999 when you were in high school but just comes off as lame and unnecessarily nasty in 2017.
This dude is a loser. This nonsense and his comments about Carrie and Lowell, just seems like a real jerk
You're siding with Sam and his weird dissertation? This is all so dumb lol. I like Teen Suicide and I like CSH, just weird that adults are acting like this
Tbf, tho, I never liked Car Seat Headrest and fuck this dude for his C&L comments as well. Both are dumb and petty and make it very easy for me to ignore their bland ass music. Father John Misty ass boys
That whole scene of white boi slacker guitar rock slathered in a layer of irony and detachment so as to be immune to criticism irks me to no end. Throw Mac Demarco in there as well.
It's funny I feel so similarly about Mac and then every time I see him live he comes off as such a genuine dude and it puts his music into an entirely different and more likable context for me
"library" is the best sam ray song the projects of other band members are generally better than TS/REA
me too, that's easily the best that he's done john from TS is in this band putting out an album on topshelf this band is good!!! seeing them tonight actually
