thats a good comparison. haha i hated that song so fucking much. I still dont like it too much but when its played live you can bet im singing along.
The lyrics to it are just like so much of a caricature of himself that I re-listened and re-read them trying to decipher if they were satirical and I don't think they are, I think they're just bad.
“Hollywood” is gonna be the divisive outlier. And in the context of the record I’m sure it’ll work even better (I’m a fan obvi). it’s like CSHR “Beverly Hills” an actual great song that everyone hates.
This is an incredible song btw. I’ve seen people on social media questioning the band after “Hollywood”. If it isn’t clear as day that Will Toledo is in full control of his craft from the other “normal” CSHR songs.... I bet we hear some more songs in the vein of “Hollywood” now that I think about it. Especially if Will has created an entire alter-ego. “Weightlifters” and “Famous” seem like early and obvious contenders.
this is not the version that's on the release though, right? it's acoustic but the one on the release is not.
Hmm. I’m listening to the one straight from the record on the Apple Music page so idk. I do remember seeing the “(Acoustic)” on that video rage above but the one in streaming seems to be the album version. Idk.
