Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (June, 2017) Movie

Anyone else read the books as a kid?

 

I like the cast for this, honestly.

 

This hits me right in the childhood in the best way.

 

Man I used to love these books back in elementary school. I remember getting the first one back in 1997 when I was just 7 years old. Good times. If the reviews for this are decent I'll probably go see it out of nostalgia.

 

I expected the adult voices to sound way more jarring coming out of the kids mouths. Animation reminds me of The Peanuts Movie

 

Meh, guess it looks better than Boss Baby does at least. Though I never read the books growing up

 

I read these books as a kid. I never thought this would ever happen lol

 

Just noticed they're calling it the "first" movie implying they're gonna try to make even more

 

With their track record, kind of a no brainer.

 

So most critics seem to like this

 

It's at 85% on Rotten Tomatoes currently but only like 29 reviews are in for some reason. I'll probably check it out at some point.

did anybody see this and was it fun? debating getting stoned and catching it with the girlfriend later

 

This was fun, not everything landed but the various animation styles were awesome and a few jokes had me rolling
