80% audience score and $190+ million opening is a pretty good start, imo

So Brave New World is a film. Didn’t hate it but also didn’t love it despite having bits in it that I did love. Probably the epitome of a 2.5 out of 5.

Loved the random Bucky appearance. Running for congress apparently. As you do.

Got a feeling a fair few on here will hate it and rip it to shreds, though.

I am feeling like some of the stuff that was cut had to do with the adamantium already being used as weapons. The way the dude’s knife cut Sam’s suit at the beginning and Sam’s reaction to it felt like it implied something was off.

feel bad for @MidDave that this is the most excited he’s ever been for the mcu and it’s getting the brakes beat off it

  6. In fairness, I wasn't excited for the movie itself. Just the setting haha

The Big Picture podcast went (I think) unnecessarily hard on this and weirdly, minus the superhero complaints, I feel like their same complaints could be used for “Civil War” (a movie they loved).

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Bucky should become the next president

I feel like he won’t even win his shot at congress.

Yeah, despite real world scenarios showing different, I find it hard to believe that a former brainwashed Russian assassin would be able to win.

It’s not that for me. I just feel like his presence in Thunderbolts* indicates he’s not in the best place.

This was nowhere near as bad as people were making it out to be. Mid tier. I was thoroughly entertained. My main complaint was everything before Celestial Island felt more like a tv show than a movie. Not so much the content but how it was shot and how it appeared on the screen. The first fight sequence and the acting up until the White House was very wooden and seemed like they were just going through the motions. I liked the narrative though.

Just finished seeing this and I enjoyed it. Wasn't the best, wasn’t the worst.

It was fun, and much less of a mess than I would've expected from a film that added a whole villain and subtracted two during the course of its making.

It's hard to not feel like a missed opportunity though with all these Hulk-related characters and plot threads but no Hulk, not even as a cameo.

Honestly though, the thing that took me out of the film the most is the politics in comparison to our real world clusterfuck.

It has the unfortunate timing of coming out and feeling both on the nose and unrealistic at the same time, but I understand these are not normal times.

Also, the Zionist actress / character was so bad

The final design of the Leader wasn't bad, but it did put me in mind of the Toxic Avenger a little bit.

This I sadly have to agree with. She couldn’t emote for the life of her, so now I doubly don't understand why they needed the character or the actress if neither served any purpose other than to be Ross' bodyguard.
