Captain America: Mid New World

 

I’ll probably think it’s fine.

 

Going to see it with my wife and son this weekend. I'm just looking to have fun. I feel too many people create such high expectations for these movies today that they just can't enjoy themselves.

It’s fine to have fun with whatever they dump out and it’s also fine to want a better product when they spend 4000 billion on these movies.

 

I grew accustomed to moderately good to great films in the infinity saga (with a couple exceptions then and there). Phases 4 and 5 are the opposite with a couple exceptions being moderately good to great.

Still hoping for a bounce back before Doomsday and Secret Wars

 

Idk. As a Madame Web stan, I’d like to believe I’m pretty good at enjoying myself with unsuccessful films.

 

48% of critics thought it was good.

Heck, even some of the negative reviews I'm seeing at least thought it was fun and that Mackie, Ford, and Lumbly gave good performances.

I'll watch it on D+ maybe. Still haven't watched a majority of the movies after Endgame. I'd like to think covid killed my motivation to see all of them in theatres, but what I have watched I haven't enjoyed very much. Big bummer because that 10 year run was incredible.

 

I think the opposite or maybe this isn't exactly the opposite but for lack of a better term I'll say the opposite is definitely true where people who like something simply cannot accept that other people don't like it because it simply wasnt good and get so pissy when people say something they liked isn't good.

This film introduces adamantium, which in turn will lead to Silver Samurai in the MCU.

I will enjoy it regardless of its quality because I see into the future, and you are all mere peasants of the present.

 

Peasants Of The Present sounds like the title of a future Muse album.

 

I actually don't get why they felt the need to keep the character since she retains no links to her comic counterpart and they have other Jewish characters already representing or who could in the future. Just seems arbitrary.

I keep forgetting that this movie has fucking Sabra in it, lol. And, didn’t realize she was played by someone who volunteered to be in the IDF? Especially wild when you realize the comic character wasn’t exactly meant as an endorsement of Zionism.
