I like that Toyotathon switches up the record for a song.

 

I like Toyotathon but I agree that it’s a bit of a vibe killer

 

I am not in love with the way that much of this record is sequenced

 

I find the sequencing a bit wonky too. The flow feels a little stop-and-start to me, versus a more natural ebb and flow.

 

In another life I wish that tour happened with Spanish Love Songs and that Dylan would join to sing “Enough Explaining” - easily my favorite song here. Feels like that would be a great pairing. Get him on a guest version!

Bryan has one hell of a voice. He sounded amazing on Downtiming and he sounds amazing here as well. Great singer.

 

I actually think that Toyotathon through Poured Out is my least favorite part of the record. The back half is so strong, but those 3 in the middle is weird sequencing and songs that just aren't quite clicking with me.

 

That is probably my favorite run on the album! Haha.

 

I just realized, after probably 10-15 listens through, that he says 'I'm an emotional wreck' in Mind Yr Own, not 'I made the most of the wreck.'

 

Enough Explaining is probably my favorite song on here. Hope we get more like that in the future.

 

Came in here to say this! I've been listening to this every morning on my way to work since it came out and the sequencing keeps throwing me off

 

we need Barry Johnson to resequence it

 

I think Enough Explaining into Poured Out that early in the tracklist is a big choice and i didn't really like it when i first heard the record but the duo grew on me

 

My only real gripe with the sequencing is that Riley should clearly be last.

 

i don’t agree with that. i think it’s the best or second best on the record but feel something feels more like an ending

 

That’s just cause of the fade out. Take that off and Riley fits so much better especially lyrics wise.

 

i also think that feel something is more in tune with the spirit of the record tonally. it doesn’t feel right to me for it to have a wistful ending…seems like it should end on a more joyful note

 

Poured Out is probably my favorite on here and I when I first heard it, I thought parts of the vocal delivery sounded like MoBo

 

Resequence it to your liking and post the playlist here. I’m curious what it will be

 

i just agree with mort here. these three kinda stall it for me. i like them all, but its weird the way they completely slow the record down in its tracks

also feel like soft -> church bells -> riley -> feel something is a strange lil grouping. a few songs that do kinda the same thing all bunched together

 

enough explaining between church bells and riley maybe

 

Definitely ordered the Bone but got my record today and it was black. Kinda miffed about it.

 

This record is..fine.. but it isn’t hitting me as much as I had hoped it would.

Definitely overhyped myself for this.

 

I’m the opposite with it personally. I liked their ep well enough but was surprised to see so many people here going nuts for it. Just felt other bands had full albums that captured that sound better(Palette Knife, Origami Angel etc).

Though with this they really nailed it. Much more my speed and the songwriting is all around tighter imo.
