Didn't know about the band Hop Along until Georgia mentioned them in the AT session. Been listening to Get Disowned more than the AT session now. This band keeps on giving. I've learned about so many other good bands via Camp Cope.
can’t remember if a month was ever mentioned for the new album but there’s an interview they did on Beats1/Apple Music and the host says September...
Jeez those Audiotree YouTube comments... Lot of people criticizing the bass lines, but that's one of the biggest draws to the band imo. Adds a unique dimension to the band, and fills out the sound really nice for a three piece.
I think September is when they are releasing the self titled album here officially in the United States for the first time on run for cover records. Georgia told me to expect the new album to be out Jan/Feb tho. :)
Came back to this after one or two initial listens and I love this. The music sometimes sounds a little thin due to the bass playing all being so high up, but the bass taking lead is really interesting. Done, Flesh & Electricity, Lost (Season One) and Stove Lighter are all on heavy rotation.
These lyrics heavily fucked me up when I first heard them too. Now it always ends up like this. It’s just me staring at couples across the street and they look so clean and happy, But, I don’t wanna end up like that, Going through the motions of lying in bed back to back, How it always ends up like that. I wanna be losers forever, Drink coffee in bed together. And not talk to anyone and figure out what it is that we had lost, What it is that we had lost.
Maq's voice is basically perfect. She is one of the few vocalists where simply the tone of the voice hooks me in before the instruments do.
