So like, are you speaking figuratively or are you saying you are literally as loud as the band All Get Out?
i'm halfway through and it's definitely a camp cope record lol i wish they'd sonically diversify a little bit, every song just has such similar guitar sounds/patterns
Not gonna be able to listen until tonight. Can anyone tell me if Anna is the same as Georgia Maq's solo version or is it full band?
This is real solid all the way through, I'm gonna have to spend time with the lyrics. Georgia's voice really fucks me up in an emotional way pretty consistently throughout tho.
This is solid, but I wish we hadn't already heard over half of the record (pre-release songs, live versions)
this is why I never really latched onto the first record much, excited to hear this tomorrow nonetheless
yeah, i don't think this is bad but this band appeals mostly based on lyrics and little melodic subtleties as opposed to immediately catchy or musically interesting songs. was into something a little more diverse so i didn't even finish my first listen of this, went straight to soccer mommy about 6 songs in
I think this is incredible. A lot slower than I expected after The Opener was released. UFO Lighter into Ive Got You is a hell of a way to close the album. The Face of God is an obvious standout too. I don’t really latch on to as many of the lyrics here on a personal level like I did with the debut (but I’m attached to those lyrics like nothing else in this world) but I’m still really happy with the direction the writing has taken.
Ok I caved, listening at work now. Holy hell the notes she hits on Anna. Georgia has one of my favorite voices in music.
Yeah this is where I'm at as well. More samey than I was hoping for. Still really dig it though. Face of God is awesome.
Sorry for three posts in a row, i put all my thoughts into one place so im not spamming or anything, -the only song I’m not sold on is the title track -face of god is an early fave -the end of Sagan Indiana felt bigger than anything from the last record -I love the beginning of the omen, and I love how it referenced the title track, and also the line “I never needed god” it kind of reminded me of west side story -the drums in animal and real make me want to dance, and I feel Georgia overall on this album sounds a lot more confident vocally and it shines here. -im glad animal and real and ufo lighter are back to back, it feels like they go together. -I love the echo-y feel of I’ve got you -I definitely get the complaints of not diversifying the sound, so I apologize that what I’m saying is mostly positive, I’m very bad with thinking critically among releases and I just loved this. It hits me incredibly hard, and is super timely.
