I haven’t seen Darkest Hour in full, but I work at a theater and from the bits I’ve seen it looks like he’s doing the most acting, not necessarily the best. Interesting. I honestly had no idea he was a contender lol.

Hasn’t he been in the news recently for some questionable behavior? Or am I mistaken.

I didn't love this movie. Found stretches of it to drag a little. BUT it was beautiful film and I'm glad bisexuality is getting a place in mainstream film (not just homosexuality) - Also the speech from his father towards the end was one of the best scenes I've ever seen.

 

He gave an interview 4 years ago where he said Mel Gibson was right which has been brought up recently

I’m pretty against the idea of a sequel to this, but after reading some interviews with the director, it could be interesting. It sounds like it’d be somewhat in the vein of the Before trilogy and I think I’d be on board with that

 

I saw this the other night and I thought it was great. Both Armie and Timothée knocked it out the park.

The scene with Elio and his father wrecked me.

 

Can't decide if this or Shape of Water had the better dance scene.

Saw this last night and can't stop thinking about it. I don't logistically see Timothee beating out DDL or Oldman for Best Actor, but I want him to win so bad. I was hanging on to every emotion he conveyed throughout the entire film. Listening to the soundtrack this morning and it is also fantastic. I was entranced by the piano in the opening credits so I am glad I can listen to that whenever I want.

 

I want DDL to win, I think Oldman is going to win, but if Chalamet stole it from Oldman I would be thrilled as well. Both because Chalamet is more deserving of the win and because I'd really like for them to not give Best Actor to two abusers in a row.

 

I'd be perfectly happy with a Chalamet upset

 

it's going to be oldman but i want chalamet to win, perhaps even above DDL.

think i'm going to see this one last time in theaters this weekend while it's still playing here.
