I can’t stop thinking about this film (and no not just because of the peach scene)

Really surprised Armie didn't get a supporting actor nomination for this.

Super annoyed that they nominated Christopher Plummer for his copy paste job and not Armie.

Watched this last night. Did not like it, but I kept thinking of Jon Hamm anytime Armie was on screen/talking.

Woody and Plummer don't belong in that category over Armie and Stuhlbarg.

I'm very impressed that the peach-fucking wasn't a meme before I saw it, because it totally caught me off guard. It does make me sad that that probably means not a lot of people have seen it, tho

Finally got around to a second viewing and liked it even more. Only thing that I wasn’t a huge fan of now that I have the book to compare it to is that they seem to have skipped over Elio’s immediate regret after the first time they slept together. I get that it would have probably given the age difference crowd more ammunition but it felt like a vital part of the book for me.

The supporting cast is so excellent and that last scene is so damn powerful.

I was the only person in the theater until this older couple came in. They’re gonna hear me cry.

Just finished this. Unfortunately I cant say I loved it as much as everybody else, but I really liked it. I thought the movie was amazing. Cinematography. Acting. The chemistry between Chalamet and Hammer. All of it was incredible. Very beautiful movie just didnt really resonate with me. Chalamet definitely deserves the nom and better get it if Oldman doesn't.

Will probably read this thread again/reviews to mull on it some more.

we'll see if this actually happens with Suspiria and Burial Rites coming up, and I feel like had more projects in the pipeline

It had close to a perfect ending. Making a sequel is so disappointing.

Why in the world does there need to be a sequel to this?

I'll say this... the final 30-40 pages of the book are the best part. And those pages aren't in the movie so-- I'd be okay.
