I feel like that doesn’t count.

Butch doesn’t seem like the type to quit writing and coast on nostalgia. Frankly that seems worse than releasing music that you think people aren’t listening too.

 

I feel like so many of my all-time favorite artists are just punting on making new music now. Counting Crows have released four new songs in the past decade. U2's newest album is seven years old. Where the fuck is Jimmy Eat World? Now Butch?!

 

He posted this on socials, along with a video of him singing "Chrissie Hynde."

 

Can't really wrap my head around that album being 10. I completely forgot to write a 10-year piece for it. It's a record I have some difficulty going back to, both because of the Ryan Adams of it all and because I listened to it a lot in the months after my grandpa died and I was kind of coming to terms with all that. Definitely one of the Butch albums that gets the least play time from me these days. But man, this record hit me hard when it came out. I think I gave it a perfect 10 over on good ol' AbsolutePunk.net. Still really love a lot of those songs.
