Many thanks! So funny story, way back forever ago, Crush sent me two CDs in the mail 1969/Maya and Luckie St., the live album. I ripped and listened to those for years. Somehow, those Luckie St. mp3s didn't make one transition from a computer like over a decade ago. No big deal, we have streaming.

One listen in and it was so clearly not that recording I had been listening to forever. It was this + Alison + Good Year for Roses. And I have been trying to find what I remembered having for a looooong time, so thank you!

 

Interesting cause Luckie St was a digital only release. So you might have a super rare one

 

Yeah, Luckie Street is a full-band live album from (I believe) the Rise & Fall tour. There's a "Born to Run" cover on there that they couldn't put on the free digital version because they were afraid of getting sued.

His cover of "Alison" is so, so good. I like it more than the Costello original, which I love.

Here's a video of "Slow Leak" from that in-store record release show I went to a few months ago. I'm hoping they eventually release video/audio of the whole thing. Would be really cool to have.

It’s actually one of my least favorites from the album, but he sounds great in this video!

 

Now that’s crazy talk. The way the piano and guitars swirl around each other with the acoustic popping in to say hello here and there. It’s majestic!

I guess I’ll leave this here too, last year I tried to collect up all the tracks he did for the request parts of the show and put them all together. Wound up being only a handful I never found. Was planning to try and polish them all up to play better together, just never found the time. But if anyone is interested the tracks are all here

Slow Leak is one of the best songs on the album!

Because every song on the album aside from "Tell Me I'm Pretty (Bethamphetamine Pt 2)" is one of the best songs on the album!

 

It's still a good song! I just happen to think that album is super stacked and prefer everything in the "Leather Weather" to "State-Line Fireworks" and "Holy Water Hangover" to "Lean Into Me" stretches (sans the interludes, of course).

 

Slow Leak is just so good though, I can't see lumping it in with the interludes and Bethamphetamine Part 2!

I didn't do an official list or anything but I am pretty sure this is my album of the year for 2022. I go back to this album so much it isn't even funny. It came out when we were camping semi off the grid in NH and I got to sit next to a little lake after supper and just listen to this album and watch the sun go down.
