Interesting to read that he regrets his book!

 

There are some parts in that book where you can clearly see he has a rather big ego but it's still a solid read. Hilarious that he turned down the opportunity to produce Creed.

 

It was also definitely a ghostwritten project. I think the ghostwriter even got a byline on the cover. But yeah, he definitely has a chip on his shoulder that came through. The Lohan chapter is wild. And the Dr. Luke stuff.

 

If anyone's into Train, Butch is gonna be in the band for their tour

 

Been revisiting this album a lot recently and it's up there with my favorite release of his, Stay Gold. Great sunset highway driving record. Don't Let it Weigh Heavy on Your Heart breaks me.

Sadly, I had to follow my own damn rules!

 

That concert may have been the hottest experience of my entire life. And to top it off on the way there the AC in my car packed with people decided it no longer wanted to make cold air. Good time though

 

It was insane. I can't imagine being drunk or high during that, or smoking cigarettes, all things that people were definitely doing.

 

Butch is now in Train!

 

He was on tour with them all summer, I think. Seems like he’s enjoying band life these days.

 

He sent this email this morning:

 

Glass half full, he seems to frame this more as a break from his own music than an end to it as he'd said a while back. Glad to see him pursuing something that feels fulfilling to him at this stage.

 

That was my takeaway as well, no longer feeling like he's done forever

 

I hope that's the case. It would be such a bummer if he never made another Butch Walker record again.

 

Does feel a little weird to have one of my favorite artists ever become the guitarist for a band that a lot of people treat as a punchline. Then again, I have never really had a problem with Train (other than "Hey Soul Sister," which is bad).

 

Don't care for Train at all but happy that he seems to be just chilling with his friends being happy
